My Story

Ron Smith

I have always enjoyed painting from an early age but until I met a pallet knife artist on a cruise ship about 8 years ago 
 I haven’t painted in a long time. He aroused my desire to begin again and when I returned home I started on the internet and then realized I needed some formal training. I sought some professional artists in the Raleigh area and have been painting ever since.

I paint generally in oils with a variety of subjects.  My wife and I have travelled extensively and many of my landscapes are based on the hundreds of photos that I have taken.  I also paint still life, portraits and lately have been successful in more surealistic and abstracts that challenge my mind and skills.
